Floor Laying
Floor Laying
Floor laying is not only technical skill. It is closely related to interior design, advising on purpose, price, colour, limitations, maintenance, and care of the desired flooring.
Floor layers must demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of floors for the interior of buildings, including parquet flooring, linoleum, vinyl, cork, rubber, carpet and laminate flooring, panels, textile flooring, etc.
Their work starts from drawing laying plans, preparing the underfloor, laying screeds and dry underfloors, and then applying insulating layers. Floor Layers do not necessarily have to be in direct contact with the client, but they need to have his or her satisfaction in mind at all times. The Floor Layer must be conscious of the need to protect the working environment because for larger work assignments floor layers may be working in teams.
Additionally, to laying new floors, the Floor Layer has to repair the existing screed underfloors and surface coverings. Floor Laying is a year-round activity since it takes place largely or entirely inside buildings.
The successful floor layer should be up to date with new technologies in his sector, new regulations, and interior fashion trends.
